ABSTRACT
Percutaneous image-guided blockade and neurolysis of the celiac plexus is a safe and effective intervention for palliating pain arising from the upper abdominal viscera, most commonly secondary to malignancy or chronic pancreatitis. There are a variety of techniques for performing celiac plexus blockade and neurolysis using multiple imaging modalities. In this review, the relevant anatomy, indications, contraindications, and techniques for performing celiac plexus blockade and neurolysis will be detailed.
