As in the whole world, respiratory system diseases are the third most common death statistics. However, respiratory system diseases are preventable and treatable first of all. Despite this, many patients embark on a difficult journey around the inevitability of death, which is an inescapable reality in life. Achieving positive health outcomes for these diseases requires a broad range of responsibilities, not only from patients but also from employers, political systems, and families. In addition to this, nurses play a key role in this context not only through their caregiving role but also in their other professional capacities. This book has been written with a broad perspective on respiratory system diseases, including topics such as “The Gender Factor in Respiratory Diseases and Telehealth.” Another distinctive feature of this book is that it is one of the first few to be written in the field of nursing regarding respiratory diseases.

I hope this book proves useful to a wide readership. I extend my respects to Türkiye Klinikleri, a powerful resource that reaches a large audience in various disciplines of medicine, as well as to all the team members who contributed to it and to all the authors who supported this book.
