Recent technological advancements, along with nanotechnology, have rapidly introduced nano materials into our daily life. Among nanomaterials, graphene and its derivatives stand out in various fields due to their biocompatibility, advanced biochemical and physicochemical properties, and structural characteristics, including antimicrobial activities. This material, having a honeycomb structure of pure carbon, is described as the thinnest and hardest material developed to date and is widely used in medicine, particularly in drug delivery carriers, imaging agents, and tissue engineering.
Evidences suggest that oral health significantly impacts people’s quality of life. Currently, various materials are being used and developed in dentistry to maintain oral health, restore dental structures, and compensate for dental losses. Over the past two decades, this exceptional material has been the subject of numerous studies in the field of dentistry.
The aim of this book is to compile fundamental information that can contribute to the routine use of graphene-based materials in dental applications by summarizing their areas of use in dentistry. This material, which could be described as the material of the century, has been extensively researched for its superior properties, and this book aims to bring together essential knowledge that may aid in its practical utilization in dental procedures.
