ABSTRACT
Additive manufacturing (AM) technology is an innovative approach in dentistry. This technology is based on the layer-by-layer production of objects by computer-aided design. Additive manufacturing can be classified into seven categories. These are; Vat Photopolymerization, Material Extrusion, Material Jetting, Binder Jetting, Powder Bed Fusion, Directed Energy Deposition and Sheet Lamination. Each method creates objects layer by layer; fast, precise, and allows personalized design, unlike traditional approaches.Polymers, metals and ceramics are the main materials used in additive manufacturing. As additive manufacturing technology has developed, these materials have been matched with methods in various ways. This matching ensures that the production is in its most ideal state. Additive manufacturing provides fast and effective solutions in dentistry and is still developing day by day. With its increasing use, faster and more personalized treatment options will be available and more precise and high quality products will be produced.
