ABSTRACT

As in the rest of the world, many studies in modern medicine focus on the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Beginning with simple command systems in the 1970s, the application of AI has now expanded to include the analysis of complex data sets, enabling its integration into nearly all fields of modern medicine. Specifically, within gastrointestinal diseases, research on inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) is an ongoing topic . The addition of AI modules in diagnosis, monitoring, and especially in imaging techniques has been shown to significantly enhance sensitivity and specificity rates. The use of AI modules has become increasingly common in areas ranging from retrospective analysis of clinical records documenting patient histories to the identification of pathognomonic lesions in tomography or endoscopy procedures.
