ABSTRACT
Tendonitis and bursitis are inflammatory conditions that cause pain. Low-dose radiotherapy (LDRT) can be used as an alternative treatment in patients who do not improve with standard treatments such as analgesics, physical therapy, or steroid injections, who progress, and who cannot undergo surgery. LDRT may improve pain management by reducing inflammation. Radiotherapy (RT) should be given at a lower dose, in a smaller area, with shorter radiotherapy schemes. However, quality control and radiotherapy planning are the same as in malignant tumors. The recommended dose is 0.5-1 Gy per fraction, 3-6 Gy in total, and 2-3 fractions per week. It is an alternative treatment, especially in elderly patients with multiple morbidities.
