ABSTRACT
The crystalline lens is a very important ocular structure for the visual function that begins to develop as early as the in the first month of the embryologic period and continues to differentiate afterwards. Congenital anomalies of the lens may affect its shape, size, transparency and position in the eye. The timely diagnosis of these anomalies is critical not only for the timely employment of proper treatment to prevent amblyopia, but also for the appropriate management of systemic genetic diseases with which they may be associated.
