ABSTRACT
Optic nerve anomalies are divided into congenital and acquired. Congenital optic nerve anomalies are a group of diseases that occur due to incomplete or faulty formation of the optic disc and surrounding retinal tissue during embryologic life. Depending on the type and extent of the anomaly may or may not limit vision. They may accompany ophthalmologic and neurologic diseases and are important in the diagnosis of these diseases. In childhood, they may present with findings such as poor vision, nystagmus and strabismus. Today, these anomalies can be easily diagnosed and differentiated with advanced imaging systems.
