ABSTRACT
Compared to coronary arteries, clinical studies on the coronary venous system appear to be more limited. In recent years, the increase in the number and variety of cardiac interventions performed on the coronary venous system has led to an increase in the number of clinical studies on the anatomy and anomalies of the coronary venous system. In particular, the anatomy and anomalies of the coronary sinus are important in the success of procedures such as cardiac resynchronization therapy, interven- tional electrophysiology, mitral annuloplasty, and retrograde cardioplegia. Coronary venous anomalies may be seen in isolation or together with other anomalies. In this section, structural anomalies of the coronary venous system, clinical implications and treatment options will be evaluated.
