ABSTRACT

Dermatophyte infections are caused by fungi species like Trichophyton, Epidermophyton and Microsporum that adhere to the stratum corneum which the outermost layer of epidermis, and the age of detection varies depending On the area of the body where they are detected. The general initial symptom is itching. It is transmitted through contact with humans, animals and soil. Histopathology, culture and examination are important in confiming the diagnosis. Treatment includes topical and oral antifungals as well as some precautions.
