Definition, Factors Affecting Enzyme Selection and Activity

ABSTRACT
Poultry naturally produce enzymes to help digest the nutrients in the feed, but the enzymes they produce somehow may be insufficient. In particular, they do not have enzymes to completely breakdown fiber and need exogenous enzymes in the feed to aid digestion. Feed enzymes provide many benefits in terms of eliminating the anti-nutritional factors in the structure of the feed, providing maximum benefit from nutrients, providing flexibility in the use of raw materials in feed formulations, and minimizing environmental pollution. In addition to these benefits we have listed, they are also among the feed additives that have an effect on intestinal health, which is one of the important issues in poultry nutrition recently. Enzymes can play a critical role in producing fermentable fiber from insoluble fiber while limiting the flow of undigested nutrients in the digestive tract. For this reason, enzymes are one of the important additives that are talked about and will continue to be discussed in the sector in terms of poultry health and performance.
