ABSTRACT
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) refers to a group of disorders characterized by hyperglycaemia that can be classified into Type 1 DM, Type 2 DM, gestational DM, and some other specific types of diabetes. But most of patients diagnosed with Type 1 and Type 2 DM. Fasting plasma glucose level exceeding 126 mg/dL (7 mmol/L) or Randomly measured plasma glucose level exceeding 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L) or 2-hour post-oral glucose tolerance test blood sugar level exceeding 200 mg/dL or HbA1c level greater than 6.5% are required parameters for diagnosis. Main target of treatment is that blood sugar value must be normal so insulin and some of other medications make it possible.
