ABSTRACT

Leiomyomas, also known as myomas or fibroids, are the most common benign tumors of the uterus, af- fecting approximately 20-40% of women in their reproductive years. While these tumors are expected to increase in size due to hormonal influences, they tend to regress in the postmenopausal period. Leio- myomas are classified based on their location, primarily into submucosal, intramural, and subserosal categories. Radiological methods play a crucial role in diagnosis, employing various techniques such as ultrasonography, saline infusion sonography (SIS), hysteroscopy, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This section will focus on the most commonly used radiological diagnostic methods for the evaluation of uterine leiomyomas.
