ABSTRACT

Coronary venous system disorders represent a rare subset of cardiovascular diseases, yet they hold sig- nificant clinical relevance due to their potential to disrupt myocardial perfusion through impaired ve- nous drainage. These conditions frequently emerge as secondary manifestations of systemic illnesses. Atherosclerosis, hypertension, systemic inflammatory disorders, hypercoagulable states, malignancies, chronic kidney disease, and infectious agents can compromise the structural and functional integrity of the coronary venous network. From a pathophysiological standpoint, these disorders are character- ized by venous thrombosis, dilation, elevated venous pressure, and the development of abnormal ar- teriovenous communications. Clinically, patients often present with chest pain, dyspnea, arrhythmias, and signs of right-sided heart failure. This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the etiological factors, clinical presentations, systemic associations, diagnostic strategies, and prognostic implications associated with diseases of the coronary venous system.
