Digital Approaches in Complete Denture Applications

ABSTRACT
The loss of teeth is a significant factor affecting both quality of life and overall health. With the rapid ad-vancement of technology, dentistry has embraced digital prosthetics. Moving away from traditional molding, complete dentures produced through subtractive manufacturing and additive manufacturing have gained prominence. Subtractive manufacturing involves carving the prosthesis from a material block, offering cost advantages but presenting challenges like clinical fit issues. On the other hand, additive manufacturing pro-vides benefits such as cost reduction and detailed production. Despite the advantages and disadvantages of both methods, selecting the appropriate one is crucial, considering application requirements and patient characteristics. This digital approach marks a substantial step, aiming to reduce costs, minimize appoint-ments, and provide comfortable treatment, particularly for elderly patients.
