ABSTRACT
Radiotherapy (RT) is one of the main treatment modalities that has been used in the treatment of benign and malign diseases. Dupuytren’s Contracture (DC) is a benign yet progressive fibrotic condition affecting the hand and digits, resulting in flexion deformities that can be significantly disabling for some patients. The primary approach to treatment remains watchful waiting during the early and stable phases of the disease. RT may also be relevant for patients who experience rapid progression or early relapse after surgery, assuming that myofibroblasts and proliferating fibroblasts. Peyronie’s disease (PD), also known as induratio penis plastica, was named after François Gigot de la Peyronie, a renowned French surgeon who contributed significantly to the principles of modern intestinal surgery. RT in the early stages of PD using low doses(12-15 Gy) is effective to treat penile pain in more than 80% of patients and reduces penile curvature in up to 64% of patients.
