ABSTRACT
The principal diagnostic modalities for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEPNENs) are upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). Endoscopic techniques also play an important role of characterization, staging, sampling and management of GEP-NENs. EUS is important for defining the parietal invasion and searching for lymph node involvement as well as sampling. In suitable conditions endoscopic therapy modalities are the preferred treatment for localised digestive NETs. With advanced resection techniques the rate of R0 resection is increased in high volume, expert centres.
