ABSTRACT
Malocclusion is a common problem in growing patients, compromising their dental health, growth, and psychological well-being. Early orthodontic intervention is critical for guiding craniofacial development, simplifying future treatments, and enhancing patients’ quality of life. Clear aligner therapy (CAT) is a flexible and discreet alternative to traditional orthodontic appliances that is appropriate for younger patients. However, its success is strongly dependent on patient cooperation, which can be impacted by a wide range of psychological, behavioral, and environmental factors. This chapter examines the difficulties to cooperation in clear aligner therapy, which include developmental variables, parental engagement, and psychological challenges such as dental anxiety. To address these challenges, the chapter offers recommendations for increasing patient motivation and adherence through tailored interventions. It recommends developing a child-friendly clinical environment by incorporating interactive techniques such as augmented reality and excellent communication among dentists, patients, and families. Behavioral reinforcement and individualized treatment strategies are also required to ensure long-term compliance. Clear aligner therapy can improve dental health results, minimize treatment timelines, and increase patient satisfaction by bringing patients, families, and orthodontists’ goals in line. Beyond clinical success, this strategy promotes the formation of good associations with dental care, setting the groundwork for a healthier and more confident future.
