ABSTRACT

Migration is a psychosocial phenomenon encountered in all periods of human history. It continues to exist as a current situation globally in recent years. With the increasing number of migrants and refugees over the past decade, migration continues to be the subject of clinical and theoretical research in the field of psychotraumatology. This study examines migration and the potential psychosocial problems that may arise with migration. It focuses on the analysis of the phenomenon of migration, especially on family relations and psychosocial dimensions of the migration process. The main purpose of this study is to shed light on the psychosocial changes that individuals experience in the process of adapting to the cultural differences they encounter in the post-migration period and to understand the role of family interactions in this process. Since migration is a multi-layered and complex process, it creates various psychosocial consequences at both individual and societal levels. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the psychosocial difficulties experienced by migrants and emphasizing the importance of family relationships in the adaptation process.
