ABSTRACT
Elbow fractures and dislocations are common injuries encountered in emergency settings, often resulting from high-energy traumas such as falls, sports injuries, and motor vehicle accidents. These injuries require prompt and accurate management to prevent long-term complications, including chronic pain, joint stiffness, and permanent loss of function. Early intervention is particularly critical when there is a risk of neurovascular injury, as timely treatment can significantly improve recovery outcomes. While conservative treatment may suffice in simpler cases, complex injuries often necessitate surgical intervention. Advances in surgical techniques and rehabilitation protocols have improved patient outcomes, especially with the introduction of minimally invasive procedures and optimized recovery plans. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the classification, diagnosis, and management of elbow fractures and dislocations, with a particular focus on emergency treatment strategies and the importance of early neurovascular assessment.
