ABSTRACT

Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening, acute-onset severe systemic reaction. Infantile anaphylaxis presents with distinct clinical manifestations compared to other age groups, which may lead to diagnostic challenges for clinicians and, in some cases, missed diagnoses. More information is needed to define the epidemiology, triggers, comorbidities, and cofactors specific to this group. Although epinephrine is the first-line treatment, epinephrine auto-injectors are not yet fully suitable for this age group. This section provides an overview of the diagnosis, triggers, and clinical management of infantile anaphylaxis.
