ABSTRACT
In recent years, there has been a numerical increase in the detection of liver tumors. The family history and medical history of the patient, comprehensive physical examination, radiological examinations, laboratory tests, and biopsy are used in the screening and diagnosis of tumors of the liver. Treatment options may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapies. In various treatment guidelines, the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork in the treatment and management of liver tumors has been shown as strong evidence. In liver tumors, nursing management is important at all stages of the disease process, including management of the patient’s current symptoms, identification of risk factors, diagnosis, and planning and implementation of treatment and care, and patient education. As a member of the health care team, the nurse takes the patient and family at the center of the team and performs the roles of caregiver, counselor, educator, researcher, patient advocate, and care manager and coordinator.
