ABSTRACT
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) is characterized by ego-syntonic perfectionism and a need for control, distinguishing it from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Despite its high prevalence in both clinical and general populations, comprehensive research on this disorder remains limited. This chapter aims to provide an in-depth evaluation of the diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, etiology, and psychodynamics of OCPD. Additionally, it seeks to offer guiding information on understanding the disorder and developing treatment strategies through a psychodynamic perspective.
