ABSTRACT
Providing appropriate occlusion for the patient in implant-supported prostheses is important like as with tooth-supported prostheses. Elimination of the occlusal overloads coming to the implant during the chewing function is possible by creating an appropriate occlusion. The cusp slopes of the adjacent teeth and implant supported prostheses, the active role of natural teeth in occlusion, and the positions of the implants take important roles in ensuring occlusion. Occlusion in implant supported restorations may vary depending on the patient’s existing occlusion, the condition of the opposite arch, the number and the locations of the implants. The occlusion concepts in implant supported fixed and/or removable prostheses may differ.
