ABSTRACT
- Intraocular pressure must be carefully managed to prevent surgical complications.
- Systemic effects of ophthalmic medications should be considered in anesthesia planning.
- The choice between regional and general anesthesia depends on the type of ophthalmic surgery.
- The oculocardiac reflex should be anticipated and promptly managed during eye surgeries.
- Airway management in ENT surgery requires thorough preoperative assessment and planning.
- Laser-based procedures pose a fire risk, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and preparedness for emergency response.
- Intraoperative and postoperative airway complications may complicate ENT surgery anesthesia due to sharing the airway with the surgical team and possible effects on the airway due to regional proximity of specific operations.
- Postoperative nausea and vomiting should be prevented using multimodal strategies.
- Nitrous oxide should be avoided in retinal surgeries and certain ENT procedures.
- Controlled hypotension techniques help minimize intraoperative bleeding in ENT surgeries.
