ABSTRACT
Orbital pseudotumor (OP) is a benign disease characterized by neoplasm-like enhancement within the orbit and orbital inflammation. The exact cause of OP is unknown, but it has been reported to be caused by infectious and immune-mediated mechanisms. It often occurs in middle-aged adults and is usually unilateral. Clinical symptoms vary depending on the area of infiltration and the degree of lesions. These include orbital pain, swelling, diplopia, proptosis, limitation of eye movements, and decreased visual acuity. Diagnosis requires evaluation of clinical features, imaging and pathological data. First-line treatment is glucocorticoids. Radiotherapy (RT), immunosuppressants and biological drugs may be considered in patients who are resistant or intolerant to treatment.
