ABSTRACT
Telepsychiatry is a form of telemedicine that enables the remote delivery of mental health care through the use of digital technologies. Telepsychiatry practices, which have experienced tremendous growth in the 21st century due to technological advancements, have become widely adopted throughout the pandemic, enabling the remote provision of mental health care. It is utilized in clinical practice for purposes like as diagnosis, medical treatment, therapy sessions, consulting services, and psychiatric education. It has helped reach patients with limited access to medical care, enabled a small number of clinicians to serve more patients remotely, and improved mental health services. Despite the benefits to clinicians and patients, there still needs to be regulation in this area. In light of the current literature, the clinical and non-clinical utilization of telepsychiatry, encompassing child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as its general standards, advantages, and disadvantages have been reviewed in this paper.
