ABSTRACT

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI) has emerged as an alternative to surgical aortic valve replacement and is now widely applied to an expanding patient population. However, bioprosthetic valve degeneration and paravalvular leaks may necessitate reintervention. In this context, the TAVI-in-TAVI (Redo-TAVR) strategy provides a minimally invasive alternative to surgical explantation. The Redo-TAVR procedure involves implanting a second transcatheter valve within the previously implanted failed valve. Successful execution of this procedure requires careful assessment of valve designs, implantation strategies, and their relationship with coronary arteries. This review aims to provide an updated overview of valve selection, optimal implantation levels, and potential complications in redo-TAVR procedures, contributing to improved patient selection and procedural success.
