ABSTRACT
The tendon reflexes are the essential parts of the neurological examination. They play an important role in maintaining the upright posture. The reflex arc has upper and lower motor neuron components. We can differentiate between upper and lower motor neuron pathologies by the increase or decrease in the tendon reflex and associated neurological findings. Sometimes tendon reflexes cannot be obtained and reflex asymmetry (unilateral absence or exaggeration) should be taken into consideration during the reflex testing. This chapter discusses masseter, upper extremity, trunk and, lower extremity reflexes in a clinical perspective.
