ABSTRACT
Telemedicine enables the provision of medical services from a distance, offering a solution to traditional healthcare obstacles like high expenses, extensive geographical distances, and limited access to medical care, particularly in areas with lack of primary care services. The utilization of telemedicine is shaped by a range of determinants, encompassing personal, and contextual factors. Individual determinants include patient intention, education level, age, computer literacy, trust in security and privacy, preference of face-to-face communication, physicians’ willingness. Contextual factors encompass technical factors, financial issues, and legal concerns. The determinants of telemedicine use are multifaceted and vary depending on the context, individual, region, and healthcare system. It is crucial to take these factors into account before implementing a telemedicine project to ensure its success.
