ABSTRACT
Hip region fractures are rarely seen in pediatric patients and are caused by high-energy traumas. While proximal femoral fractures are commonly treated surgically, the majority of pelvic fractures can be treated conservatively due to high remodeling potential. Pelvic asymmetry, limping, and leg length discrepancy are commonly reported complications of pediatric pelvic fractures. Low back pain and sacroiliac pain are common complications of sacroiliac injuries. In pelvic fractures, solid organ injuries, urogenital, and neurological complications can also be seen. In pediatric femoral neck fractures, avascular necrosis is the most commonly reported complication followed by revision surgery, premature physeal closure, coxa vara, and nonunion.
Keywords: Pediatric trauma; pelvic asymmetry; limping; avascular necrosis
