ABSTRACT
Tyzzer’s disease is a common infection in gerbils and other rodents. Triggered by the bacterium Clostridium piliforme, this disease can cause severe damage to the digestive system and liver. Clinical signs of the disease include lethargy, anorexia, diarrhea, and sudden death. Early diagnosis and treatment play a crucial role in reducing the effects of the disease. Strict hygiene and infection control in gerbil colonies are necessary to prevent the spread of the disease.
